Americana acrylics are water-based and non-toxic. Once dry, you can varnish them to better protect them, and also to obtain a satin or gloss finish, depending on the varnish you use and the layers you apply.

This acrylic paint can be used on almost any surface.

They are bright and lightfast pigments. Most colors completely cover the painted surface with a single coat.

HOW TO USE: Shake well before use. Apply one layer with a soft brush. Apply multiple coats when using more transparent colors. Allow to dry completely before applying additional coats or varnishes.

TIPS: Don't pour large amounts of acrylic, go instead using small amounts from the bottle, as acrylics dry very quickly.

Smooth bodywork tape or Scotch tape applied over already dry acrylic paint will not damage existing paint, making it easier to produce a hard or sharp edge.

Typically, the shelf life of most paints is 5-7 years. If kept in a closed container at stable life temperatures, shelf life can be indefinite. Here are some guidelines to follow to determine if your Americana acrylics are still good to use:

If your paints can be remixed by shaking or stirring, they are fine to use.

If paints cannot be successfully shaken or stirred, they should be discarded and replaced.

If there are small bits of dried matter in the paint, you can create a filter by unscrewing the paint cap, placing a small piece of nylon stocking or similar thin, fine-knit cloth over the opening, and then replacing the cap. When you squeeze the paint out, the dry matter will stay inside the bottle and only smooth paint will come out.

If there are "threads" in the paint, it's best to throw it out and replace it.

Drying time may depend on temperature, humidity, thickness of application, etc. Americana acrylics are typically dry to the touch in 15 minutes or less.
