What is Chipboard?
Chipboard is a thick fiber paper that is usually made from recycled paper. It is similar to cardboard and is non-corrugated cardboard, so it is not hollow. In scrapbooking, it is used to make scrapbook pages which are bound together with ribbons or binder rings, then the whole page is decorated, no book is needed as the chipboard pieces make up the pages.

Using Chipboard in Scrapbooking
Chipboard can be used to create thickness or texture on a scrapbook page and is often used to make cutout letters. It comes plain or with a finish. Plus, you can paint it, sand it, cover it with patterned paper, and use rub letters to embellish it. Matte board, found in the framing section of your local craft store, can be used as a great substitute for chipboard.
