Décopatch: Ideas with the découpage technique

As we told you in our blog post about decoupage , this craft technique is based on cutting and gluing small pieces of paper of different types printed with very different shades and patterns. Rice papers, napkin paper and even fine fabrics can be used on supports such as wood, cardboard, glass and candles, among many others. The main objective of the decoupage technique is to achieve a painting effect in its finish, which is why it combines the use of paper with varnishes and paints. At Centro Artesano we love using the Décopatch brand because it offers a wide range of products with which you can create practically anything that comes to mind.

Once the paint has dried, you begin to glue the pieces of paper and then apply a Décopatch varnish to give your creation a perfect finish. You can use any recycled cardboard figure and use it as hooks by cutting it in half and sticking it to the bottom of the frame. Paint the figure, the frame and the background. Glue the two parts of the figure to the bottom of the frame and prepare the papers for your design. There is a world of possibilities to combine the colors and designs of Décopatch . Have you thought about decorating the interior of a glass candle holder? The idea is most original. You will need the number of candle holders or wide glass vases that you want to decorate and Décopatch paper. Clean the inside of the candle holders and decorate them on the inside with the papers you want to use. Varnish and let dry. The effect is incredible! For this type of work, floral and romantic prints usually look great, but give free rein to your imagination and play with colors and patterns to achieve an impressive effect in contrast to the shades of the candles.
